The goal of backgammon is simply to bring your army of checkers (either black or white, depending on what color you chose to be your army) into your home, and once it has reached your home, you can begin taking them off the board. The backgammon board has already what players need inside the board, such as the checkers and the dice needed in rolling and generating the number of moves. To determine who goes first, players will roll the dice and the one who rolls the highest number can go first.

The backgammon board has 24 four triangles on it called the points. These points alternates in color and each player’s moves will be determined by rolling of the dice. Even if the Hoplitodromos were to be included in modern Olympics, it would have been modified greatly to an extent that the essence is lost.
