Horse racing has been around thousands of years, beginning with the Roman’s great idea of racing horses with chariots attached to them, to the modern horse racing we have of today. There is just something about placing your bets on a certain horse and the idea
of thrill and excitement running through your whole body as you wait, and wait and see if your horse made it first on the finish line. Only then you can breathe a sigh of relief as your body starts to relax again, with the idea sinking in on you. If your bet did not win, well, there is always a next time and that next time probably starts 5 minutes after the first race!
Such is the excitement horse race betting will give any follower. Horse racing does not come easy as a pie though as there are different kinds of racing available out there that players must choose carefully what kind of race they want to engage. There’s Harness Horse racing where horses pulls the jockey riding in a two-wheeled cart going around on an oval. This game is popular in Australia, North America and Europe.
Then, there’s the Thoroughbred racing which uses thoroughbred horses of course. This type of race is known and practiced worldwide, making it the most popular horse racing game. When we say thoroughbreds, this involves horse of high quality, one that horse-owners take care of like their own child. This type can be divided into two types: the flat races and the jumping races. In flat races, horses do not go around an oval jumping over obstacles while in jumping races, horses needs to jump over obstacles.
Other types of horse racing are Quarter-Horse racing where horse are required to run in a straight but short distance while stakes races involves a certain fixed amount of money whether from the horse owners themselves or from the bettors. Horse racing is such an old game but maybe time is telling us that this game was probably so good and enjoyed by many that it is still being practiced up to now.
